Theatre Lab, the professional resident company of 91Ƭ, will present “Motherland,” a play by Allison Gregory, from Friday, Jan. 27 to Sunday, Feb. 12 in Parliament Hall, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. There will be a special preview performance on Thursday, Jan. 26.

In Gregory’s new play, a self-made woman does her crafty best to protect her wayward children, keep her food truck business thriving, and impart some kind of moral code in a city battling collapse. In “Motherland,” grit, guile, and guns are everyday parenting tools, and hope comes at a cost. A funny, raw, timely new play inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s “Mother Courage and Her Children,” it is considered one of the most important plays of the 20th century.

The production is directed by Matt Stabile, associate art director of the Theatre Lab, and features South Florida theater professional Karen Stephens as “Mother,” as well as Troy Davidson, Roderick Randle, Shein Mompremier, Michael Small, Jordon Armstrong and Jovon Jacobs.  Lighting designer David Nail; sound designer Matt Corey; prop master Michael Blair and 91Ƭ costume design faculty member Dawn Shamburger also will return for their third production at the Theatre Lab. Kent Barrett will join them for his first production as scenic designer.

Individual tickets are $35, with group discounts available. For tickets and more information, call 561-297-6124 or visit .
