91制片厂鈥檚 Board of Trustees Elect New Vice Chair

The 91制片厂 met today to make several decisions related to the University鈥檚 operations, including electing its new vice chair, .

Moabery , of Delray Beach, has served on the board since May 2011. He is president and chief executive officer of GA Telesis LLC, a global leader in commercial aerospace. Moabery serves on the 91制片厂 Stadium Leadership Committee, is president of the Wings Club Scholarship Fund and serves as an adviser to several national and local children鈥檚 charities. An honorably discharged veteran from the U.S. Navy and U.S. Naval Reserve, Moabery attended 91制片厂.

鈥淚 live and breathe this school. I love it,鈥 Moabery said. 鈥淎 day doesn鈥檛 go by that I鈥檓 not involved in some university business. You will get from me 100 percent commitment to the school, not only today but forever.鈥

The vote for vice chair was required due to new trustee Brad Levine鈥檚 to the BOT by Florida Gov. Rick Scott. He succeeded former BOT Vice Chair Daniel Cane, whose four-year term recently ended. Brent Burns was also recently appointed by the governor, replacing Thomas Workman, Jr. who served on the board since 2008. Burns is the president and chief operating officer of , a $15.1 billion diversified automotive company based in Deerfield Beach.聽

Among other business, the trustees approved:

  • Several new naming elements at A.D. Henderson/91制片厂 High School in recognition of generous donations by Bernard and Sylvie Godin, Nicholas DeSiato and Kimberly Rosemurgy, the Huizenga Family and Ernest and Donna McMullen. All these donations will assist with the planning, financing and equipment purchases for the school鈥檚 complex.
  • A new naming element at the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence to create The Avron B. Fogelman Sports Museum.聽
  • The performance-based funding data integrity audit
  • The adoption of the Office of Compliance Charter
  • The termination of degrees in favor of new academic programs: the BA/BS in Geology and BA/BS in Geography will be replaced by a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience and Bachelor of Arts degrees in French, Spanish and Linguistics will be replaced by a Bachelor of Arts in Languages, Linguistics and Comparative Literature.聽
